Is a great blessing to see permanent results!

“… I have… ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain”. (Gospel of John 15:16).

Everybody who likes sowing also likes reaping. We all want to see our labor producing fruit. We have goals for our actions. God also has a specific goal when He saves a person.

The Bible verse in the head of this letter shows the goal of Jesus Christ for people saved by Him: “…ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain”.

God enjoys seeing His children growing in faithfulness, perseverance, and obedience. In other words, He is joyful when we bring fruit, and permanent fruit.

I felt a similar joy during the last weeks. The words of Christ are clear to show what He expects from us. I use those words to express what I felt seeing permanent fruit. I am speaking about labor I made in the past, and now it has grown and remains. I do praise the Lord for using me in His work, and giving to me the privilege to see concrete and permanent fruits.

A firm guy and a growing church.
15 years ago I had the privilege to help in planting a church in Florencia de Mora, Trujillo. The work to plant that Church started when a gangster from that area came to Jesus. To make short a long story, now God has established a Baptist Church in Florencia de Mora. Its name is New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Joel Gamboa is working there from the beginning of the labor there.

I went to preach in several opportunities. Unbeliever gangsters and other guys asked Pastor Joel to invite me; they met in Pastor Joel’s house to hear the Word of God. One of them was Saul; he is fruit of that evangelistic and missionary effort. Today, Saul is faithfully involved in New Jerusalem Baptist. I thank God for Saul; it was a great blessing to me seeing Saul faithful and excited in his Christian life.

When I was Pastor in Ebenezer Baptist Church in Trujillo, we started to plant a church in Manuel Arevalo area. It was a new area habilitated for houses. We went to share the gospel to the few new inhabitants. Today, after 15 years, Manuel Arevalo is plenty of people.

Today, in Manuel Arevalo, it exists Prince of Peace Baptist Church. Ebenezer Baptist chose that name. I enjoyed preaching in the Anniversary Conference; I enjoyed seeing that congregation. I saw after several year people who came to Jesus in the beginning of the Church. I also saw new people; the Church is growing, it self-supports its ministry. Its Pastor is Lesblinger Panaifo, a graduated from the Baptist Seminary of Peru.

The Anniversary Conference was focused on missions; it brought more joy to me. I preached with mission instructions and challenges. Brethren answered with excitement to the Word of God. It was the first conference on mission at Prince of Peace Baptist. It also was the first time they made promises of faith to give for mission. I am happy that Pastor Lesblinger Panaifo and its Church are ready to be involved in obeying the Great Commission in areas beyond Manuel Arevalo.

Chulucanas – Piura: Evangelistic Conference (July 23-25).

This man and the girl in the center made professions of faith in Jesus. He is husband of a lady who is member in the Church there; that lady was praying a lot for his salvation. God heard her prayers and now he is a Christian. The girl attends to the Church for some time, but during this conference she decided to follow Jesus. Now they need to grow. Please pray for Pastor Manuel Palomino and his wife as they minister to those new believers!

Requena: Discipleship & Training for pastors and leasers (July 30 – August 7).
The first week of August we taught in our Center of Training in Requena. This time we had something special: acknowledgments to the first group of 14 students who finished the 10 classes of the program. 9 of those 14 students are Pastors; the other 6 are deacons very involved in serving our Lord. On that week we taught to 2 groups: Pastor Evelio Villalobos taught “Church Administration” to 17 students; I taught “Interpretation of the Bible” to 4 new students.

God also gave me the privilege to speak in a Conference of the Hispanic Worldwide Mission Net (July 25-27); and preach at New Life Baptist Church (July 28-29). Both events were in Lima.

During these days I am teaching “The Man of God” to 13 men at Hope Baptist Church. I am happy of being useful to people from my home Church.

Family.

I am enjoying time with my family. I could be with Leneida and Segundo Andres for their birthdays. I had to lead the party for children who were present for Segundo Andres’ birthday. It was funny being “child” again. On the other hand, I am trying to build the house for my family. When we came from Lima, we had to fit in a couple of tiny rooms. Lord willing, before I travel to the USA, each member of the family would have their room.

Trip to the USA.
Lord willing, I will visit Florida and Michigan with my friend Tim Chapman. We will visit several churches promoting the ministry of camps which Tim wants to develop in Peru. Since God moved me to Trujillo, I could not see Tim and spend time together. I hope this trip will be helpful to make stronger our partnership and spiritual life. I will be in the USA for 4 weeks.

Prayer request.
Please pray for me, to use well each minute of my life. My time is short in every place I minister, and my contact with people is short. My lifestyle and ministry demand that I redeem the time. I need your help by praying to obey these words of God:
“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.” (Colossians 4:5).
“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:16-17).

¡Es una bendición ver resultados permanentes!

“… Y os he puesto para que vayáis y llevéis fruto, y vuestro fruto permanezca”. (Evangelio de Juan 15:16)

A todos los que nos gusta sembrar, también nos encanta cosechar. Todos queremos ver que nuestro trabajo tiene fruto. Tenemos metas cuando hacemos algo. Dios también tiene un objetivo específico cuando salva a una persona.
La porción bíblica que encabeza este escrito expresa el objetivo de Jesucristo para con las personas que salva: “Quiere que lleven fruto y que ese fruto permanezca”.
Dios se goza cuando mira a sus hijos y los ve fieles, crecientes, perseverantes y obedientes. En otras palabras, se goza cuando nos ve que llevamos fruto y que nuestro fruto permanece.
He sentido un gozo parecido durante este período de tiempo. Las palabras de Cristo son propias de él y de lo que él espera de nosotros. Yo las estoy usando en esta carta para mostrar lo que he sentido al ver fruto que permanece. Hablo de fruto del trabajo ministerial de mi pasado, que ha crecido y que permanece hasta hoy. Glorifico a Dios por usarme en su obra y por darme el privilegio de ver resultados concretos y duraderos.

Un joven estable y una iglesia creciente.
Hace unos 15 años atrás, tuve el privilegio de cooperar en el trabajo de establecer una iglesia en Florencia de Mora, Trujillo. La iglesia se fundó a partir de la conversión de un pandillero de esa área de Trujillo. La historia es larga. Lo principal de la historia es que hoy existe en Florencia de Mora una Iglesia Bautista, cuyo nombre es Nueva Jerusalén, que es pastoreada por el pastor Joel Gamboa, que está ministrando allí desde que empezó la iglesia.

Fui a ayudar con la predicación de la palabra de Dios en varias ocasiones. Iba porque él pastor Joel me invitaba a petición de los jóvenes que se reunían para oír la palabra de Dios. La mayoría de esos jóvenes eran pandilleros. Entre ellos estaba Saúl. Él es un fruto de ese esfuerzo evangelístico y misionero. Hoy, Saúl participa fielmente en la Iglesia Bautista Nueva Jerusalén. Agradezco a Dios por Saúl, verle fiel y animado en el camino del Señor ha sido una gran bendición para mí.

Cuando era Pastor de la Iglesia Bautista Ebenezer de Tujillo empezamos el trabajo misionero en Manuel Arévalo. Este lugar había sido urbanizado y recién se estaba empezando a poblar. Íbamos a evangelizar cuando había muy poca gente. Ahora, después de 15 años, Manuel Arévalo ya está mejor construido y con muchísima más gente.

En Manuel Arévalo, hoy existe la Iglesia Bautista Príncipe de Paz. Fue la Iglesia Bautista Ebenezer la que le puso ese nombre. Tuve el gozo de predicar en su campaña de aniversario. Me gocé en ver a esa congregación. Me reencontré con hermanos con los que empezó la iglesia. Vi también nuevos hermanos. La iglesia ha crecido, se autosostiene y tiene a Lesblinger Panaifo, un graduado del Seminario Bautista del Perú en Trujillo, como su pastor.

Su conferencia de aniversario fue con enfoque misionero. Eso me gusto muchísimo más. Todos los mensajes que prediqué tenía instrucción y desafío misionero. Los hermanos de la iglesia respondieron con entusiasmo a la palabra de Dios. Para la iglesia, fue su primera conferencia misionera. También, fue la primera vez que se comprometieron a ofrendar a misiones a través de promesas de fe. Estoy contento de que tanto el pastor como la iglesa se hayan dispuesto a participar más activamente en misiones.

Chulucanas – Piura: Cruzada evangelística (23-25 de Julio). 

El varón está a mi lado y la joven que está entre la esposa del pastor y yo pusieron su fe en Jesucristo. El varón es esposo de una hermana que ya es miembro de la iglesia. Ella estaba orando mucho por él. Dios escuchó sus ruegos y hoy él es ya un hermano en Cristo. La señorita asistía regularmente a la iglesia pero recién en esta campaña se entregó a Jesucristo. Ahora es tiempo de crecer. Pidamos por el pastor Manuel Palomino y su esposa. ¡Qué Dios les ayude a discipular a estos nuevos creyentes! Requena: Discipulación y entrenamiento de pastores y líderes (30 de Julio al 7 de Agosto).
En la primera semana de Agosto, realizamos nuestras clases en el Requena. Esta vez, tuvimos algo especial, se tuvo un servicio especial donde se reconoció al primer grupo de alumnos que terminaron los 10 cursos de entrenamiento. Reconocimos a 14 alumnos. De estos 14, 9 son pastores de iglesias; los otros 6 son diáconos muy comprometidos en la obra de Dios. En esa semana también enseñamos dos cursos a dos grupos de estudiantes. El pastor Evelio Villalobos, enseñó Administración de la Iglesia a un grupo de 17 alumnos. A mí tocó enseñar Interpretación de la Biblia a 4 nuevos alumnos.

Dios también me dio el privilegio de predicar en la conferencia de Red Hispana de Misiones Mundiales (25-27 de Julio) y la Iglesia Bíblica Bautista Vida Nueva (28-29 de Julio). Esto fue en Lima. En Trujillo prediqué en la Conferencia misionera de la Iglesia Bautista Príncipe de Paz (1-5 de Setiembre).

En estos días estoy enseñando un curso a un grupo de 13 varones de la Iglesia Bautista La Esperanza. El curso bíblico que estoy enseñando es El Hombre de Dios. Estoy feliz de ser útil a los hermanos de la iglesia a la que pertenezco.

Familia.
Estoy pasando un lindo tiempo como familia. Pude estar en el cumpleaños de Leneida y de Segundo Andrés. En el cumpleaños de Segundo Andrés no tuvimos quien dirija la diversión de los niños, así que tuve que hacerlo yo. Fue muy divertido volver a ser “niño”. En casa estoy abocado en la construcción de la vivienda en que mi familia y yo viviremos. Desde que vinimos de Lima a Trujillo, mi familia y yo hemos estado muy estrechos. Con la bendición de Dios, antes de que parta para USA, cada integrante de mi familia tendrá su propio espacio.

Viaje a USA.
Dios mediante, estaré en algunas ciudades de Florida y Michigan, junto a mi amigo Tim Chapman. Visitaremos varias iglesias promoviendo el ministerio de campamentos que Tim quiere desarrollar en Perú. Tim y yo no hemos hablado mucho ni hemos estado juntos desde que Dios me movió de Lima a Trujillo. Este viaje nos servirá para acrecentar nuestro compañerismo y para que ell uno al otro nos afinemos espiritual y ministerialmente. Estaré en USA por 4 semanas.

Petición de oración.
Pidan por mí para que aproveche cada minuto de mi vida. Que pueda usar mi tiempo bien. Mi vida es breve en todo lugar a donde voy y mi contacto con toda persona que conozco es corto. Mi tipo de vida y de ministerio demandan que redima bien el tiempo. Necesito su ayuda en oración para que cumpla estas palabras de Dios:

“Andad sabiamente para con los de afuera, redimiendo el tiempo” (Colosenses 4:5).
“Mirad, pues con diligencia cómo andéis, no como necios sino como sabios, aprovechando bien el tiempo porque los días son malos” (Efesios 5:16-17).
