My last ministerial trip to the Ucayali River

For my friends and brothers in Jesus.

Dear friends and brothers, this is the news I have for you. I delayed a bit, but here they are. All this is done with the support you give us. God give you the reward according to the mercy and love you have for people in the jungle of Peru.

Preaching the Gospel at the boats and delivery of leaflets to people.

Pastor Evelio and I preach the gospel of Jesus and handed out leaflets in the boat that took us to San Roque. We did this both to go and upon return. We talked to people about Jesus Christ and encourage them to believe in him. Many had expressed interest in the word of God. We saw read the booklet/brochure that we give them. We trust the word of God will bear fruit in time. Our preaching affirmed the faith of believers in the boat. We were pleased to see them read the Bible during the trip.

San Roque Ministry - Anniversary Gift of God Church

In San Roque visited the pastor Roberto Manihuari and the brothers he ministers. The church of this village was celebrating its anniversary. This church has 52 years of existence. God has kept and preserved to this church all these years! We rejoice in preaching the word of God to our brothers. We gave them encouragement and we encourage them to faithfully serve our Lord Jesus Christ. Pastor Robert is one of our students and his ministry is important in that area. He is about to complete the courses we teach. Lord willing, next year it will be his final year and then it will be his graduation

Erosion and Relocation of San Roque housing.

I was impressed how the Ucayali river erodes and makes the forest people to relocate. San Roque has changed locations many times. I visited San Roque in January this year, on my return in June; the river had forced people to change the location of their homes. Thankfully, the river "alerts" and no loss of life. But the economic damage is great for the people of San Roque. This time, the people who were affected have been many of our brothers in Christ who have had to go elsewhere. The local church also will be relocated. The brothers testified that is not the first time this occurs. They are already "accustomed" to this phenomenon.

Visit and ministry in Montevideo - Weddings and baptisms.

Montevideo - Ucayali River. This town we travel for the first time. We preach the gospel and encourage the brethren to be faithful to the Lord. The town is small, and the congregation of believers is so much more. This town had the privilege of ministering to formalize marriage of three couples. These couples were living together for many years, but by accepting Jesus understood that they should fix that situation. After regularize their marital status, and testified they were baptized and their determination to follow Jesus Christ. It was a blessing to see them testify of their faith through baptism!

Ministry in Requena - Training

This time we teach An Overview of the New Testament and how to prepare biblical messages. Pastor Evelio and I had a total of 20 students. This was the first time we have taught in the month of June. The weather was cool. We had the standard heat of the jungle. Although the weather is good on that date but it is not appropriate for students because it is time to plant/sow. That's why several of our students could not reach/make it. This time, we implemented Growth Conference for all the brothers of the church. We made the conference on the evening. The brothers of the church participated enthusiastically cheered. God willing will continue in November with the conferences of growth. We are happy that now we are going to teach the brethren of the churches.

Actions for the month of November 2011 in Requena.
God willing, our next visit to Requena will be in November, from 22 to 29 November. The plan for this visit is this:

1. Teach Biblical Doctrine and Bible Study Methods and Rules of Interpretation.
2. Spiritual Growth Conferences to the brothers of Requena and surrounding churches.
3. Plan another graduation of students from our Training Center.
4. Evaluate the training center next to the Directive and make new plans for it.

I ask your prayers for this new journey. Pastor Evelio, the directive of the center and I are very excited and we intend to give new impetus to our ministry in Requena and surrounding areas.

Ministerio en Requena: Entrenamiento y discipulado

Esta vez enseñamos Una Perspectiva General del Nuevo Testamento y Cómo Preparar Mensajes Bíblicos. El pastor Evelio y yo tuvimos en total 20 alumnos. Esta ha sido la primera vez que hemos enseñado en el mes de Junio. El clima fue fresco. No tuvimos el calor normal de la selva. Aunque el clima es bueno en esa fecha, no es apropiado para los alumnos porque es tiempo de sembrar. Es por eso que varios de nuestros alumnos no pudieron llegar. Esta vez, implementamos Conferencias de Crecimiento para todos los hermanos de la iglesia. Hicimos la conferencia por la noche. Los hermanos de la iglesia se alegraron y participaron con entusiasmo. Dios mediante, en Noviembre continuaremos con las conferencias de crecimiento. Estamos contentos de que ahora también vamos a enseñar a los hermanos de las iglesias.

Ministerio en Montevideo: Bautismos.

Montevideo está ubicado en la orilla de un brazo del río Ucayali. El pastor Evelio Villalobos tuvo el privilegio de bautizar a 6 hermanos en Cristo. Fue una muy buena experiencia para mi consiervo. A mi tocó tomar las fotos. El testimonio de los hermanos que se bautizaron fue de estímulo para Evelio y para mí. No tomé muchas fotos porque filme la imersión de nuestros hermanos. Dios mediante, subiré estos videos a mi espacio en Youtube. ¡Qué bendición que todavía hay gente que se convierte a Jesús, cambia su vida y se bautiza como un testimonio público de su determinación de seguir a nuestro Señor!

Visita a Montevideo: Matrimonios

Montevideo – Río Ucayali. A este pueblo viajamos por primera vez. Predicamos el evangelio y animamos a los hermanos a ser fieles al Señor. El pueblo es pequeño, y la congregación de creyentes lo es mucho más. En este pueblo tuvimos el privilegio de ministrar en la formalización matrimonial de tres parejas. Estas parejas eran convivientes por muchos años, pero al aceptar a Jesús entendieron que debían arreglar esa situación. Las tres parejas tenían hijos y ellos les sirvieron de pajes. Luego de regularizar su situación conyugal, ellos se bautizaron y testificaron así su determinación de seguir a Jesucristo. ¡Fue una bendición verles testificar de su fe por medio del bautismo!

Río Ucayali: Erosión y reubicación de San Roque

Me impresionó cómo el río Ucayali erosiona y hace que los pueblos de la selva se reubiquen. San Roque ha cambiado de ubicación muchas veces. Yo visité San Roque en Enero de este año, a mi regreso, en Junio, el río había obligado a las personas a cambiar el lugar de sus viviendas. Gracias a Dios, el río “avisa” y no hay pérdida de vidas humanas. Empero, el perjuicio económico es grande para los habitantes de San Roque. Esta vez, los afectados han sido muchos de nuestros hermanos en Cristo, que han tenido que irse a otro lugar. El local de la iglesia también va a ser reubicado. Los hermanos testificaron que no es la primera vez que ocurre esto. Ellos ya están “acostumbrados” a este fenómeno.

Viaje a la selva: 52 Aniversario de la Iglesia Bautista El Don de Dios - San Roque

En San Roque visitamos al pastor Roberto Manihuari y a los hermanos que él ministra. La iglesia de ese pueblo estaba celebrando su aniversario. Esta iglesia tiene 52 años de existencia. ¡Dios ha guardado y preservado a esta iglesia por todos estos años! Nos gozamos en predicar la palabra de Dios a nuestros hermanos. Les dimos ánimo y les exhortamos a servir fielmente a nuestro Señor Jesucristo. El pastor Roberto es uno de nuestros alumnos y su ministerio es importante en esa zona. Él está por completar los cursos que enseñamos. Dios mediante, el próximo curso será su último curso y luego les corresponderá su graduación. La Iglesia el Don de Dios fue formada por misioneros americanos. ¡Qué hermoso que el fruto del trabajo de estos misioneros aún perdura en el tiempo! ¡Gloria a Dios por los que misioneros que trajeron el evangelio a estas agrestes y salvajes tierras!

Predicación del evangelio en las lanchas y entrega de folletos a las personas

El pastor Evelio y yo, predicamos el evangelio de Jesús y repartimos folletos en las lanchas que nos llevaron y trajeron de San Roque. Hicimos esto tanto al ir como al retornar. Charlamos con las personas sobre Jesucristo y les animamos a creer en él. Fueron muchos los que mostraron interés en la palabra de Dios. Los vimos leer el folleto que les entregamos. El folleto que repartimos se titula ESTA FUE TU VIDA y lo distrubuye Chick Publicaciones. Es un buen folleto y presenta el evangelio de Jesús y el destino eterno con claridad. Confiamos en que la palabra de Dios dará fruto en su tiempo. Nuestra predicación afirmó la fe de los creyentes que estaban en la lancha. Nos dio gusto verles leer la Biblia durante el viaje. La eternidad mostrará el fruto del ministerio que realizamos en la lancha.
