En el ministerio tenemos momentos felices y momentos tristes. No quiero mencionar hoy los momentos alegres, sino un momento triste. El momento triste viene a nosotros a causa de situaciones pecaminosas.
Nosotros tenemos mucha tristeza y dolor cuando nos enteramos que un pastor tiene que dejar el ministerio por el pecado propio o por el pecado de alguien cercano a él. Nuestra tristeza se acrecienta cuando la persona que sale del ministerio tiene con nosotros vínculos amicales y ministeriales cercanos.
En este momento me estoy alistando para viajar a ver a un consiervo que está viviendo el dolor de dejar el ministerio pastoral por el pecado de su esposa. La situación de este consiervo es bastante difícil. Yo me siento en la obligación cristiana de ir a verle para condolerme, consolarle y animarle. El plan de mi viaje incluye también a la iglesia y a los líderes que están al frente de la congregación. Como saben, las iglesias son afectadas grandemente cuando cae el pastor. De este suceso he tenido conocimiento hace ya unas tres semanas atrás, pero no me ha sido posible viajar hasta el lugar en que vive este mi hermano en Cristo, sino hasta hoy.
Como he dicho, quiero ir para ser una bendición a este nuestro hermano y su familia. Pero yo soy consciente de que mi intención y mi deseo no son suficientes, necesito la ayuda de Dios. Por eso es que les escribo. Quiero que intercedan por mí ante Dios. Requiero su ayuda para ser un consejero espiritual que anima y consuela a este consiervo y su familia.
No quiero que me ocurra a mí lo que ocurrió con los amigos de Job. Como saben, ellos fueron a “condolerse” con Job, pero lo que hicieron es lastimarlo y juzgarlo. Dios mismo dijo que ellos no “hablaron” de él lo que era recto. Por lo tanto, estos amigos de Job no le animaron, le desanimaron.
No quiero que me ocurra eso. Quiero llegar y animar a mi consiervo. Por favor, oren por mí. Rueguen que sea de bendición y edificación a nuestro hermano y su familia. Mi viaje será largo, estaré fuera de mi hogar por 5 días. Tendré tiempo para orar y meditar.
Les aseguro que pensaré mucho en lo terrible que es el pecado. Es terrible para el que peca, para los que le rodean, para la iglesia, para los no creyentes y, sobre todo, para nuestro Dios.
Tomemos el caso de este nuestro consiervo como una advertencia a nosotros, para que sigamos de pie hasta que Dios nos lleve a su presencia. Pablo dijo: “El que piense estar firme, mire que no caiga”. ¡Qué Dios nos ayude y nos guarde!

Noticias Ministeriales Febrero 2010
Como siempre, me complazco en escribirles y saludarles cordialmente. Escribir esta carta es un duro trabajo para mí. Pero es un duro trabajo que hago con alegría.
Sé que muchos de ustedes leen, oran y están pendientes de lo que Dios hace a través de mi ministerio. Quiero sus oraciones y su aprecio me anima mucho. Por tanto, mientras Dios lo permita y me use en su obra, voy a tomar tiempo para escribirles.
A continuación, les comparto lo más resaltante del mes que pasó:
Campamento de pastores (1-5 Febrero).
Mi familia y yo tuvimos el privilegio de participar en el campamento de pastores y misioneros que organizan los hermanos misioneros de Baptist Mid Mission. Mi familia y yo desde hace varios años separamos el tiempo para participar de este campamento porque es un tiempo propicio para ver y hablar con nuestros consiervos y amigos del ministerio.
La palabra de Dios fue muy edificante y nos animó muchísimo. Mi esposa y yo pasamos un lindo tiempo con nuestros hermanos y amigos. Mis hijos disfrutaron de la palabra de Dios y del compañerismo con los otros niños. En especial, mis niños disfrutaron de la piscina.
Doy gracias a Dios por los misioneros de Baptist Mid Mission que están en Perú y que patrocinan este campamento que da instrucción en la palabra de Dios, ánimo y compañerismo entre siervos de Dios, y que provee un lindo tiempo vacacional para los pastores, misioneros y sus familias.
Salud de Leneida.
En otras cartas he compartido con ustedes lo referente a la salud de Leneida. Varios de ustedes han intercedido en oración por ella. Les agradezco por eso. Sus oraciones nos han ayudado y nos animado sobremanera.
En el campamento, Leneida fue examinada por la hermana Mericia. Yo estaba esperando dicho examen con un poquito de temor. La salud de Leneida me tenía muy preocupado y quería saber si el tratamiento y la medicina habían dado un resultado positivo.
La hermana Mericia me comunicó con alegría que Leneida estaba muchísimo mejor. Ella me dijo que Leneida estaba de alta. La noticia alivió mi preocupación. Ahora estoy más tranquilo y muy agradecido a Dios por ustedes y por su intercesión a favor de Leneida.
Viaje a Requena (5-13 Febrero).
Fui a Requena para dictar el curso de Misiones, Evangelismo y Discipulado. Este viaje fue muy especial. Fui para dictar el último de los 10 cursos que planificamos enseñar a los hermanos de esa parte del Perú.
Los que han terminado de estudiar conmigo los 10 cursos son 16 hermanos. De los 16, 10 son pastores y están al frente de un buen grupo de hermanos. Los otros 6 son hermanos que cooperan y trabajan también en la obra de Dios.
Nosotros teníamos el plan de graduar a estos hermanos en este viaje, pero por motivos significativos, decidimos postergar la graduación para el mes de Agosto de este año. Si Dios lo permite, en Agosto graduaremos a estos hermanos y planificaremos junto a ellos qué más podemos estudiar juntos.
A este viaje me acompañó Leneida. Ella trabajó con damas. Discipuló a dos jovencitas y a dos damas mayores durante la semana. Asimismo, enseñó el libro de Rut a un grupo de 24 damas. Fue su primera experiencia trabajando sola en la enseñanza. La vi contenta y me gocé de verla servir al Señor.
El viaje de Leneida fue un viaje de ensayo pues estoy planeando ampliar nuestro ministerio de enseñanza. Quiero viajar más constantemente con ella. Ella enseñaría a las mujeres y yo a los varones. Ayúdennos orando por este plan. Si Dios lo permite, lo haremos cada vez que se pueda.
También viajó con nosotros el pastor Evelio Villalobos. Él enseñó Cómo Predicar y Ministerio Pastoral. Para un grupo de sus alumnos este fue su sétimo curso y para el otro grupo de ellos fue su cuarto curso. El pastor Evelio tuvo 12 alumnos en total. Estoy muy agradecido por él y su ministerio en Requena.
Pido que sigan orando por lo que hacemos en Requena. Ahora estoy evaluando qué más vamos a hacer allí. Yo creo que debo seguir yendo a enseñar, de eso no tengo duda. Empero, lo que sigue se sabrá en los próximos días.

Conferencia a un grupo de jóvenes y señoritas adventistas (26 Febrero).
Mientras estuve en Requena, mi hermana mayor me llamó por teléfono por encargo de un par líderes adventistas que querían que enseñe la Biblia en un campamento de jóvenes.
Yo no supe todos los detalles de la invitación sino hasta que llegué a Trujillo. Cuando supe que eran adventistas quise hablar con ellos sobre la invitación. La conversación fue muy amena. Ellos me dijeron: “usted va para enseñar la Biblia, no otra cosa”.
Yo no lo pensé más. En Requena había enseñado Misiones, Evangelismo y Discipulado. En el curso habíamos hecho énfasis en la singularidad de evangelio y en la necesidad que todas las personas tienen del mismo. Nosotros habíamos concluido de que el evangelio tiene que ser presentado a toda persona y este grupo de adventistas me estaba dando esa oportunidad y yo no iba a desaprovecharlo.
El viernes 26 fui y presenté el tema siguiente: Identidad cristiana, su compromiso y llamamiento. En resumen, enseñé que dicha identidad de obtiene siendo hijo de Dios, discípulo de Cristo y siervo de Dios.
Vi mucho interés en varios de los que estuvieron presentes. Presenté a Jesús como único salvador y a la gracia de Dios por medio de la fe como la única forma de apropiarse de la salvación de Dios.
He dejado el resultado y el fruto de la enseñanza de la palabra de Dios a Dios mismo. Soy solo un sembrador, cultivador o cosechador. Es Dios quien da crecimiento y resultado. Es mi ruego a él que obre salvación en los jóvenes que oyeron su palabra.

Ruego a Dios que los guarde fieles y que los use en su reino. No hay mejor ni mayor privilegio que el ser siervo de Dios y vivir para él y su reino.

Noticias ministeriales de Enero 2010
Apreciados hermanos y consiervos en el servicio a Jesucristo,
Durante este primer mes del año, Dios me dio la oportunidad de servirle en Pimentel, Chiclayo y en Bagua Grande y Shipata, Amazonas.
En Pimentel, Chiclayo, estuve con el misionero Guillermo Peterzel, que trabaja con el auspicio de la Misión Bautista Hermandad, de Raleihg, Carolina del Norte, USA. Este misionero tiene un comedor para niños pobres en Pimentel. Su plan es empezar una iglesia a partir de este comedor. En este momento tiene ya algunas familias que se congregan para estudiar la Biblia.
En Pimentel, prediqué el evangelio durante dos noches. Gracias a Dios, hubo algunas personas que profesaron fe en Jesús. Pasé un lindo tiempo con el misionero Guillermo y su familia. Pimentel es un balneario y recibe la visita de mucha gente en la temporada de verano. El pueblo está creciendo mucho y hay una gran necesidad de que el evangelio crezca en ese pueblo. Oremos a Dios por el misionero y el trabajo que está haciendo allí.
Luego de Pimentel, Dios me dio la oportunidad de predicar en la Convención de Iglesias Bautistas Independientes de Amazonas. La reunión se llevó a cabo en Shipata, a unas 5 horas de Bagua Grande. Fuimos hasta allí en dos vehículos pequeños. El tema fue: La iglesia y la gran comisión. Fue un desafío enorme mostrarles a nuestros hermanos a través de palabra de Dios que la gran comisión tiene un alcance mundial y que ellos también están convocados a participar en tan grande privilegio.
El pastor Enoc tuvo a su cargo las clases y yo las predicaciones. Hubieron en total 12 iglesias representadas. Los encargados del programa anunciaron que hubo más de 150 personas. El fruto de la predicación fueron 5 personas que profesaron seguir a Cristo. También hubo reconciliaciones.
Con referencia al fruto del tema expuesto, hubo el acuerdo de los líderes de las iglesias representadas que impulsarían en sus iglesias la ofrenda misionera y que empezarían a partir de este mes de Enero. Asimismo, fuimos testigos oculares del dramático testimonio de un joven llamado Luis Mori. Este joven testificó que durante la última clase del pastor Enoc, y en especial, cuando el pastor dijo a todos nosotros que hiciésemos esta pregunta: “¿qué si Dios quiere que yo sea el que vaya a hacer la obra de Dios?”, él había sentido que debía dedicarse al ministerio de predicación del evangelio. Luis dio su testimonio ante todos con lágrimas en los ojos. Pido oración por él, que Dios lo guarde y lo forme como su siervo.
Nuestro tiempo en Shipata fue precioso. El pueblo está en la sierra del departamento de Amazonas, a más de 2500 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Hace mucho frío y hay muchos pueblos con un buen número de habitantes que necesitan oír el evangelio de Cristo. La obra de Dios en Shipata empezó gracias al pastor Rolando Cruz y a la Iglesia Bíblica Bautista de Lucyana, Lima.
Hemos dejado el reto misionero en esa área. Es mi ruego a Dios que use su palabra y que mis hermanos de las iglesias que estuvieron representadas acrecienten su visión y su accionar misionero para gloria de Dios y salvación de mucha más gente.

Noticias familiares y ministeriales
Esta vez no estoy tan cansado como en mi última comunicación. Estoy en casa y me esfuerzo para ser una bendición a mi familia y la iglesia en la que congrego. Como siempre, me apresto a compartir con gozo lo que Dios está haciendo en mi vida y en las de los que me rodean.
Mi familia
En mi última carta les hablé de la salud de Leneida, mi esposa. Ella y yo viajamos a Lima para que la atendiese la doctora Mericia, que es esposa del pastor Walter Espinoza. El diagnóstico de la hermana Mericia fue este: Leneida tiene un prolapso en segundo grado. Tenía también una fuerte inflamación. Recetó para ella reposo absoluto de tres días y reposo relativo de ocho días. Aparte, Leneida tenía que tomar la medicina que la doctora recetó.
Han pasado ya tres semanas de nuestra visita a la doctora. Leneida está mejorando, pero aún está adolorida y cansada. Su tratamiento sigue y su trabajo en el hogar ha disminuido. Al principio teníamos la idea de que Leneida iba a ser operada, pero la hermana Mericia recomendó que esperemos un poco. Veremos lo que Dios dispone. Gracias por orar por ella y por el interés que ustedes han mostrado por su salud. Dios mediante, luego de nuestra próxima visita a Lima les daré más información.
Mis hijos están bien de salud. Ellos han finalizado ya su año escolar y están disfrutando de sus vacaciones. Como ha sido la costumbre, esperamos viajar juntos a varios lugares durante las vacaciones. Si Dios permite y bendice eso es lo que haremos. Ayúdennos con sus oraciones para que Dios guarde a mis hijos en el camino de Cristo.
La Iglesia Bautista La Esperanza
Esta es la iglesia a la que mi familia y yo asistimos ahora que estamos en Trujillo. Han pasado ya 9 meses desde que salimos de Lima para vivir en Trujillo. Para Leneida y mis hijos, la iglesia La Esperanza es una nueva iglesia, pero no para mí, ya que yo crecí en mi vida cristiana en esta congregación.
He regresado a la iglesia después de 18 años. Los que eran jóvenes en mi tiempo ya están casados, con hijos y llevando sobre sus hombros la responsabilidad eclesiástica. Los que eran niños ya son jóvenes e involucrándose en el servicio del Señor. Muchos de los adultos permanecen aún en la iglesia, pero son varios los que ya han partido a la presencia del Señor. Me gusta que la iglesia ha acrecentado su conciencia y compromiso misionero. La iglesia ha empezado una obra misionera y sostiene a un misionero propio. Aparte de eso, está apoyando a cuatro misioneros de otras iglesias. El pastor Antonio nos desafió a que el año que viene apoyemos a dos misioneros más.
Estoy contento de que he vuelto a la iglesia en que crecí y di mis primeros pasos en el servicio del Señor. Mi alegría es mayor porque veo a la iglesia comprometiéndose mucho más en el evangelismo, el discipulado y las misiones. Oren por nuestro pastor y su familia y por todos nosotros para que crezcamos y sirvamos más y mejor al Señor.
Mi ministerio
En San Pedro de Lloc, que está al norte de Trujillo, como a una hora y media en bus. Fui para predicar y enseñar sobre la responsabilidad de la iglesia para con el ministerio pastoral. Me invitó a dar esta enseñanza el misionero Julio Tenorio que ha trabajado en esta ciudad por más de ocho años. Él ha hecho un buen trabajo y ha establecido suficientemente la iglesia. Ahora tiene la certeza de que Dios lo quiere en otro lugar y se está aprestando a dejar esta iglesia bajo la responsabilidad de otro siervo de Dios. Por favor, ayudemos al misionero Julio Tenorio y a la iglesia en San Pedro de Lloc con nuestras oraciones. ¡Pidamos que Dios les dé un buen siervo suyo como pastor y que la transición sea una bendición para la iglesia y su ministerio en esa ciudad!
En Ingenio. Fui para enseñar el curso de Interpretación de la Biblia. Este es el tercer curso que estamos enseñando ya en ese pueblo. Esta vez tuve 8 alumnos. Lo maravilloso de esto es que estos ocho hermanos están tomando la responsabilidad de predicar y enseñar la palabra de Dios en los pueblos que están alrededor de Ingenio. Mi gozo en el caso del ministerio que estamos haciendo en Ingenio es mayor por la participación de la iglesia de Ingenio y de la iglesia de Tahuantinsuyo, Lima. Ambas iglesias son vitales para que este centro de entrenamiento en ingenio sea una realidad. Doy gracias a Dios por el pastor Edgar Mori (Ingenio) y el pastor Latimer Rengifo (Tahuantinsuyo), que apoyan fuertemente lo que se está haciendo en Ingenio.
En Cooperación Misionera Bautista Internacional. Sigo presidiendo este ministerio. Les daré un reporte de lo que Dios nos ha permitido hacer durante el año que ya está por finalizar. Lo haré en otra comunicación porque hablaré de lo que Dios ha hecho a través de mis compañeros y de los pastores e iglesias que nos han permitido servirles. Lo que sí les digo ahora es que Dios ha usado el ministerio COMBI y estamos felices por eso.

Mi familia
En mi última carta les hablé de la salud de Leneida, mi esposa. Ella y yo viajamos a Lima para que la atendiese la doctora Mericia, que es esposa del pastor Walter Espinoza. El diagnóstico de la hermana Mericia fue este: Leneida tiene un prolapso en segundo grado. Tenía también una fuerte inflamación. Recetó para ella reposo absoluto de tres días y reposo relativo de ocho días. Aparte, Leneida tenía que tomar la medicina que la doctora recetó.
Han pasado ya tres semanas de nuestra visita a la doctora. Leneida está mejorando, pero aún está adolorida y cansada. Su tratamiento sigue y su trabajo en el hogar ha disminuido. Al principio teníamos la idea de que Leneida iba a ser operada, pero la hermana Mericia recomendó que esperemos un poco. Veremos lo que Dios dispone. Gracias por orar por ella y por el interés que ustedes han mostrado por su salud. Dios mediante, luego de nuestra próxima visita a Lima les daré más información.
Mis hijos están bien de salud. Ellos han finalizado ya su año escolar y están disfrutando de sus vacaciones. Como ha sido la costumbre, esperamos viajar juntos a varios lugares durante las vacaciones. Si Dios permite y bendice eso es lo que haremos. Ayúdennos con sus oraciones para que Dios guarde a mis hijos en el camino de Cristo.
La Iglesia Bautista La Esperanza
Esta es la iglesia a la que mi familia y yo asistimos ahora que estamos en Trujillo. Han pasado ya 9 meses desde que salimos de Lima para vivir en Trujillo. Para Leneida y mis hijos, la iglesia La Esperanza es una nueva iglesia, pero no para mí, ya que yo crecí en mi vida cristiana en esta congregación.
He regresado a la iglesia después de 18 años. Los que eran jóvenes en mi tiempo ya están casados, con hijos y llevando sobre sus hombros la responsabilidad eclesiástica. Los que eran niños ya son jóvenes e involucrándose en el servicio del Señor. Muchos de los adultos permanecen aún en la iglesia, pero son varios los que ya han partido a la presencia del Señor. News and reasons for prayer
Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ,
Writing and telling you of what God has done, does, and is doing is a good way of glorifying God and to edify the believers. That is how I think and the reason I write.
However, writing is not always easy. There are occasions in which one goes in circles and can’t write (writers block). These days have been like that for me. It’s not that there’s nothing to share. It’s that I “could not” write.
I believe that I am tired and that much of what I’ve lived in recent days has worn me out. Thanks to God, my inner focus is firm. I am contented that in the Bible exists this hopeful text: “28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romanos 8:28). I’m happy that this phrase exists in the Word of God.
Also, I rejoice that God doesn’t cover over, in His Word, the weaknesses and scarcity of his servants. It’s clear in the Bible that God has servants who tire, become sad and even “hide in fear”. Of one servant of God of the past it says: “Elijah was a man subject to passions just like us…” (James 5:17)
Even we Christians can pass through hard and bitter emotional moments. These don’t obscure the greatness of the power of God. To the contrary, moments like these are appropriate for our God to be seen as great and merciful, as He certainly is.
Paul, who experienced much pain for the cause of the Kingdom of God, wrote these words: “7But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 11For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.” (2 Corintios 4:7-11).
It’s not my purpose to explain the text cited, yet I wanted only to demonstrate that a Christian is never dominated, demolished nor destroyed. Victory and the Triumph are always our ultimate reality which we do and will experience. Jesus Christ has conquered and His victory IS the victory of the Christian. Glory to God for Jesus Christ and His triumph in the Cross of Calvary! (Colosenses 2:8-15).
I’ve expressed my state of energy and motivation, and I know that many of you will understand me and will pray on my behalf. Now I will prepare what God has permitted me to do since my latest communication.
Class of Old Testament in Piura, Peru from October 12th to 14th.
I was in this city on the date cited to continue with the study of the Old Testament with a group of pastors and leaders. In the previous class we studied through to 2 Chronicles. On this occasion we study the book of Psalms through Malachi. The time that we spent reviewing this part of the Old Testament was marvelous. The students were happy to clarify in their minds the Old Testament. For my part, I learned much more.

Congress of CEPABIP in Chazuta from November 2 to 7th.
At this Congress, I participated as organizer together with missionary Amaro Zapata, pastors Benjamín Salinas, pastor Elías Huamán. Pastor Elías is who presides over us.
Attending the Congress were more than 130 Pastors and Leaders. Participating were pastors and leaders from: Lima, Trujillo, Chiclayo, Piura, Sullana, Bagua Grande, Nueva Cajamarca, Moyobamba, Tarapoto, Yurimaguas and Iquitos.
Chazuta is located some 3 hours in car by the left side of the river Huallaga. It’s a typical jungle city. The central theme of the Congress was: The Authority of the Bible in these Last Days.
Pastor Jairo Sangama, who pastors in the city of Chazuta, moved all of us as he thanked us for having gone to his city and to become familiar with the reality of their church live and “chazutina” Christian community.
God used the preaching, the teaching and the communion between pastors and leaders to motivate us to be faithful to God and His Written Word.
¡The beautiful country of Chazuta beautified by the pastors and leaders which participated in the Congress in Chazuta! ¡God Bless them and keep them faithful!
Class of Church History in Requena from Nov 12 to 23rd.
I went to teach the course “History of the Church”, which is the ninth course of the 10 which I ought to teach there. I had a total of 18 students. Of the 18, 15 of them have studied with me faithfully for three years. God willing, in the month of February 2010, we will finish with course level 10 and proceed to graduate these 15 brothers. It’s surprising we are about to finish.
Together with me traveled Pastor Evelio Villalobos de Musa. He went to teach the Missions, Evangelism and Discipleship courses. He had 24 students. The study Group of Pastor Evelio is varied. It’s very difficult to explain the composition of the Group in a letter. What I can do is ask you to pray much for this ministry which Pastor Evelio is realizing in this city.
On this trip we had a visit from Pastor Lukas Counterman of Wichita Falls, TX, USA. He came together with a good Group of Brothers from his congregation to minister in Lima and Requena. They preached to the students and the church. Also, they taught the Bible to the children of the church in Requenilla (another part of town) and Sinchi Roca. Their visit was a great encouragement for us and for the Brothers of Requena, especially for the children, who are rejoicing at hearing the Word from their lips.
On this trip we have rejoiced for the conversion of James, a youth of the pueblo of Mount of Olives (Monte de los Olivos), and for the conversion of two couples in the pueblo of Sinchi Roca. It’s my petition to God that He continue saving many more. Another motive to rejoice on this trip was to see how God is making grow in the faith, Jose Chistama and his family. This Jose is a man who loves to preach and teach the Word of God. He is now traveling by the river Ucayali to preach and teach the Bible. Let’s Pray for him, asking that God continue making him grow and using his efforts.

For a while now here, my wife has come to feeling very ill of health. I’ve always taken her to be examined and we’ve followed the instructions of sister Mericia, who is the doctor who treats her. A while ago I was thinking that what she had would soon pass. I’d hoped, but she feels even worse now and it has begun to worry me.
Her sicknesses are particular to women and are difficult for me to comprehend or explain. With everything, I know she is not well and this has caused me to take to writing letters regarding the issue.
I’m taking her to Lima this week to be examined one more time by the sister Mericia, of the Salamanca Baptist Church (Iglesia Bautista Salamanca). My wife feels safe with this doctor, and for this reason I take her there.
I ask you to pray for my wife. It’s by reason of her help that I can do what I do. I want to know exactly what she has and which treatment is best and safe. Please, don’t forget to pray for her.
Prayer Requests:
1. My family, especially for health of Leneida.
2. My ministry in San Pedro de Lloc. I will go to preach for 3 days. My time is important because I will teach the church how to treat their pastor. They are going to take a new pastor and have asked me to train them on this topic.
3. My ministry in Ingenio, Bagua Grande. I will go to teach the course: Methods of Biblical Study and Rules of Interpretation. It’s our third course in this area. Petition God that we are greeted by a good sized group of students, and that God use me so that His children understand better the Word of God.

Estado de ánimo actual y ...
Apreciados hermanos y amigos en el reino de Jesucristo,
Escribir narrando lo que Dios ha hecho, hace y está haciendo es una buena manera de glorificar a Dios y de edificar a los creyentes. Así es como pienso y es por eso que escribo.
Empero, escribir no siempre es fácil. Hay ocasiones en que uno da vueltas y vueltas y no escribe nada. Estos días han sido así para mí. No es que no haya nada que narrar. Lo que sucede es que “no pude” escribir.
Creo que estoy cansado y que mucho de lo que he vivido en los últimos días me ha desgastado. Gracias a Dios, mi ánimo está firme. Estoy contento de que existe en la Biblia este esperanzador texto: “Y sabemos que a los que aman a Dios, todas las cosas les ayudan bien, esto es, a los que conforme a su propósito son llamados” (Romanos 8:28). Estoy feliz de que existe esta palabra en la Biblia.
También me gozo de que Dios no oculta en su palabra la debilidad y la flaqueza de sus siervos. Es claro en la Biblia que Dios tiene siervos que se cansan, se ponen tristes y que hasta “huyen” de miedo. De un siervo de Dios del pasado se dice: “Elías era hombre sujeto a pasiones semejantes a las nuestras…” (Santiago 5:17).
Aunque los cristianos podemos pasar por momentos emotivos duros y amargos, estos no opacan la grandeza y el poder de Dios. Al contrario, momentos como estos son propicios para que nuestro Dios sea visto tan grande y misericordioso como ciertamente es.
Pablo, que experimentó mucho dolor por causa del reino de Dios, escribió estas palabras: “Pero tenemos este tesoro en vasos de barro, para que la excelencia del poder sea de Dios, y no de nosotros, que estamos atribulados en todo, mas no angustiados; en apuros, mas no desesperados; perseguidos, mas no desamparados; derribados, pero no destruidos; llevando en el cuerpo siempre por todas partes la muerte de Jesús, para que también la vida de Jesús se manifieste en nuestros cuerpos. Porque nosotros que vivimos, siempre estamos entregados a muerte por causa de Jesús, para que también la vida de Jesús de manifieste en nuestra carne mortal” (2 Corintios 4:7-11).
No es mi propósito explicar el texto citado, solamente quería mostrar que un cristiano nunca está derrotado, ni derribado, ni destruido. Que no importa lo que suceda a su alrededor ni lo que le suceda a él mismo. La victoria y el triunfo siempre son y serán la realidad última que experimenta y que experimentará. Jesucristo ha vencido y su victoria es la victoria de los cristianos. ¡Gloria a Dios por Jesucristo y su triunfo en la cruz del Calvario! (Colosenses 2:8-15).
He expresado mi estado de ánimo y sé que muchos de ustedes me entenderán y orarán a mi favor. Ahora alistaré lo que Dios me ha permitido hacer desde mi última comunicación:
Clase de Antiguo Testamento en Piura del 12 al 14 de Octubre.
Estuve en esta ciudad en la fecha citada para continuar con el estudio del Antiguo Testamento con un grupo de pastores y líderes. En la clase anterior habíamos estudiado hasta el 2 libro de Crónicas. En esta ocasión estudiamos desde el libro de Salmos hasta Malaquías. El tiempo que pasamos repasando esta parte del Antiguo Testamento fue maravilloso. Los alumnos estuvieron felices de clarificar en sus mentes el Antiguo Testamento. Por mi parte, aprendí mucho más.
Congreso CEPABIP en Chazuta del 2 al 7 de Noviembre.
Participo en este congreso como organizador junto al misionero Amaro Zapata, al pastor Benjamín Salinas y al pastor Elías Huamán. El pastor Elías es quien nos preside a nosotros.
Asistieron al Congreso más de 130 pastores y líderes. Participaron pastores y líderes de Lima, Trujillo, Chiclayo, Piura, Sullana, Bagua Grande, Nueva Cajamarca, Moyobamba, Tarapoto, Yurimaguas e Iquitos.
Chazuta está ubicado a unas 3 horas en carro por el margen izquierdo del río Huallaga. Es una típica ciudad selvática. El tema central del Congreso fue: La autoridad de la Biblia en estos postreros tiempos.
El pastor Jairo Sangama, que pastorea en la ciudad de Chazuta, nos conmovió a todos nosotros cuando nos agradeció por haber ido hasta su ciudad y conocer de cerca la realidad de la iglesia y de la comunidad chazutina.
Dios usó la predicación, la enseñanza y la comunión entre los pastores y líderes para motivarnos a ser fieles a Dios y a su palabra escrita.
Clase de Historia de la Iglesia en Requena del 12 al 23 de Noviembre.
Fui para enseñar el curso de Historia de la Iglesia, que el noveno curso de los 10 que debo dictar allí. Tuve en total 18 alumnos. De los 18, 15 de ellos han estudiado conmigo fielmente desde hace 3 años. Dios mediante, en el mes de Febrero 2010 terminaremos con el curso 10 y procederemos a graduar a estos 15 hermanos. Es sorprendente que ya estemos a punto de terminar.
Junto conmigo viajó el pastor Evelio Villalobos de Musa. Él fue para enseñar el curso Misiones, Evangelismo y Discipulado. Él tuvo 24 alumnos. El grupo de estudio del pastor Evelio es muy variado. Es muy difícil explicar la composición del grupo por carta. Lo que sí puedo hacer es pedirle que oren mucho por el ministerio que el pastor Evelio realiza en esta ciudad.
En este viaje tuvimos la visita del pastor Lukus Counterman de Wichita Falls, TX, USA. Él vino junto a un buen grupo de hermanos de su congregación para ministrar en Lima y Requena. En Requena, ellos predicaron a los alumnos y a la iglesia. También enseñaron la Biblia a los niños de la iglesia en Requenilla y en Sinchi Roca. Su visita fue de gran ánimo para nosotros y para los hermanos de Requena, en especial para los niños, que se gozaron oyendo la palabra de sus labios.
En este viaje nos hemos gozado por la conversión de James, un joven del pueblo de Monte de los Olivos, y por la conversión de una pareja de esposos en el pueblo de Sinchi Roca. Es mi ruego a Dios que siga salvando a muchos más.
Otro motivo de gozo en este viaje es ver cómo Dios está haciendo crecer en la fe a José Chistama y su familia. Este José es un varón al que le gusta predicar y enseñar la palabra de Dios. Él ahora está viajando por la rivera del Ucayali para predicar y enseñar la Biblia. Oremos por él, pidamos que Dios le siga haciendo crecer y usando en su obra.
Salud de Leneida, mi esposa.
De un tiempo a esta parte, mi esposa ha venido sintiéndose muy mal de salud. Siempre la he llevado a que sea examinada y hemos seguido las instrucciones de la hermana Mericia, que es la doctora que la atiende.
Hasta hace poco yo pensaba que lo que tiene le iba a pasar pronto. Empero, ella se siente cada vez peor y he empezado a preocuparme.
Sus males son males femeninos que me son difíciles de comprender y explicar. Con todo, sé que no está bien y eso me ha hecho tomar cartas en el asunto.
Voy a llevarla a Lima esta semana para que sea examinada una vez más por la hermana Mericia, de la Iglesia Bautista Salamanca. Mi esposa se siente segura con ella y es por la llevaré con ella.
Les pido que oren por mi esposa. Es por su ayuda que hago lo que hago. Quiero saber qué es lo que tiene y cuál es el tratamiento a seguir. Por favor, no olviden orar por ella.

1. Mi familia, en especial por la salud de Leneida.
2. Mi ministerio en San Pedro de Lloc. Iré para predicar por 3 días. Mi tiempo es importante porque enseñaré a la iglesia sus deberes para con su pastor. Ellos van a tomar un nuevo pastor y me han pedido que les enseñe sobre este tema.
3. Mi Ministerio en Ingenio, Bagua Grande. Iré para enseñar el curso Métodos de Estudio Bíblico y Reglas de Interpretación. Es nuestro tercer curso en esa área. Rueguen que haya un buen grupo de alumnos y que Dios me use para que sus hijos entiendan mejor la palabra de Dios.

Escribir narrando lo que Dios ha hecho, hace y está haciendo es una buena manera de glorificar a Dios y de edificar a los creyentes. Así es como pienso y es por eso que escribo.
Empero, escribir no siempre es fácil. Hay ocasiones en que uno da vueltas y vueltas y no escribe nada. Estos días han sido así para mí. No es que no haya nada que narrar. Lo que sucede es que “no pude” escribir.

Some ideas shared at a conference on Hispanic ministry in Hampton, VA, USA, September 17 & 18, 2009
Introductory comments:
I participated in this conference thanks to the invitation of Pastor Andy Counterman of Anchor Baptist Church and with the help of Pastor Troy Calvert of Fairfax Baptist Temple. The first told me about the conference and the latter took me there.
The speakers at the conference were Dr. Rick Armstrong, Dr. Troy Calvert, Pastor Steve Kohnert, and Pastor Jack Ramos. These four servants of God have experience working with Hispanics. The conference was in English, but there was translation available for those who didn’t speak English. From what I could see, there were only two of us who didn’t speak English.
What I heard really encouraged me. I am impressed and moved by the fact that more and more American pastors and churches are becoming interested in reaching Hispanics who are in North America. It is a fact that many North American Christians are an example by their compassion, vision and missionary action.
Space does not allow me to share everything that I heard from the speakers. I have the materials they shared. It is full of statistical information and demonstrates a great heart to reach the Hispanic world. One of my friends in ministry may take the time to translate the materials and share it. If that should happen, it will be available to anyone who asks for it.
I want to share with you the observations that I made and shared with those who were at the conference. Time was given to dialogue, exchange ideas and comments among all those of us who were present. That was the right time for me to participate and express what I’ve seen in my 6 visits to the USA.
1. God should direct the lives of those who are converted to Jesus Christ.
I made this comment because I believe that no one has the right to tell an individual who is converted to Christ what he must do.
What I said was the following: “We should allow God to manage and govern the life of the believer.” This means that if a foreigner is converted to Jesus and God guides him to return to his country to reach his own… then he should return; if God guides him to stay… let him stay; and if God moves him to go to another country… let him go.
What I emphasized was that whatever option God should guide his child to choose, let him fulfill the Great Commission and let him become an instrument to extend the Kingdom of Christ wherever he goes.
I made this comment because it seemed to me that with good intentions and almost without realizing it, some seemed to want to decide what should be the will of God for Hispanics who are converted to Jesus. This is inadmissible.
We believe that every child of God is a priest before God, who has the Holy Spirit to guide him and has the Bible to instruct him. These Biblical concepts should guide the ministry that we begin, whether we are Hispanics, North Americans, Japanese or of any other nationality. We should trust that God knows what he wants to do with those that he brings into his Kingdom.
2. The missionary potential of the Hispanic who is converted to Christ.
Every person that is converted to Christ has an enormous missionary potential and we need to find the way to develop that potential to its maximum expression.
The Hispanic who is converted to Christ is a missionary instrument if God should return him to his country or if He should leave him here or takes him to another country.
I made this comment because several were asking what could be done so that Hispanics would feel and see that they are a part of the bigger church family that begins a ministry to them.
I mentioned that this was the same struggle that missionaries to Peru and other countries have experienced. How do we get the converted to become committed to the work of God? My observation attempted to make clear the goal to involve the converted in the Great Commission the first day they are converted to Jesus Christ.
I believe that we take too long to talk to the converted about the Great Commission. Because of this, if we want more people that cooperate and work at supporting the work of God on local, national and worldwide levels, the best we can do is to get them involved in the Great Commission from the beginning.
3. Strengthening the arm of the servants of God who work among Hispanics.
In my travels in this country I have observed that if there is a difficult ministry in the USA it Hispanic ministry.
The pastor or missionary’s work among Hispanics is an immense test and challenge.
The difficulties that discourage and frustrate the Hispanic minister are the following:
-The Hispanic is in constant movement, especially the illegal. It is very frustrating to train someone who is going to help you and then, they leave.
-The Hispanic works more than normal because he wants to send money to his home country making it very difficult for him to cooperate with the missionary or pastor in their ministry.
-The Hispanic who is legal and has a good job has become equally or more materialistic as the average American and has lost his heart for God and His work.
-The Hispanic minister is not free to develop the ministry as he considers God to be guiding him. This is especially true when he is under the leadership of a pastor or a group of pastors or a church that wants to exercise control over that ministry.
-The Hispanic minster doesn’t receive enough financial support for his family’s expenses nor for the ministry expenses. There are many Hispanic ministers who do not have a good house or a good car compared to American pastors or missionaries. His limitations are so great that he and his wife must work at other jobs to cover their basic needs.
-The Hispanic minister doesn’t see fruit very quickly nor very much. This fact is terrible and demoralizing by itself. It is even greater when behind him is a pastor, a pastoral team or church which demands numerical results.
-The Hispanic minister has conflicts of conscience because he knows that many Hispanic Brothers “lie.” This is terrible for pastors that know that God is holy and just. Pastor Troy Calvert told us his experience that amply illustrated how a brother lied to him and used him as defender of his lie before a court of law in the USA.
-The Hispanic minister doesn’t have genuine companionship with the pastor that is over him or with other pastors. This is a problem I’ve also noticed among North American pastors. This is dangerous since there isn’t a human arm that could encourage these pastors.
My question to the audience was this: “What is being done to strengthen and encourage the Hispanic pastors?”
Pastor Jack Ramos of Temple Baptist in Fairfax mentioned that conferences were being organized, that he made phone calls to other Hispanic pastors and that he was trying to contact other pastors. He would try to encourage the growth of fellowship among pastors in his area. That was a great response.
I hope in the Lord that much more will be done to encourage and strengthen the arm of those who work among Hispanics. I believe it will be rewarding to make sure that the spiritual health and ministerial joy of Hispanic pastors and their families are cared for.
4. Consistent discipleship to Hispanics.
As is often the case in Peru, discipleship to those who are converted in this country is often very weak. This true not only because of the job instability among Hispanics, but its true due to negligence on the part of those who work with Hispanics.
My question was: “What is being done to consistently disciple Hispanics who are converted to Christ?”
Pastor Acevedo, who came from New York, mentioned the Won by One book as a very good book for discipleship. He said he used it and that it helped him to disciple those who were being converted to Christ.
My concern about discipleship and its importance for growth of the Christian in becoming a better and more efficient instrument in the fulfillment of the Great Commission has to do with the fact that the Great Commission to all of Judea, Samaria and unto the Ends of the Earth was fulfilled when the brethren were scattered because of the persecution that occurred when Stephen died. (Acts 8: 1-4; 11:19-30).
There will always be migration. The movement of people from one place to another is an inescapable historic reality. We can’t do anything to prevent it. If on a particular day we prevent people from moving, then God will intervene and people will have to move. Because of this, churches should strengthen their ministry of discipleship so that the brethren can be growing and maturing constantly.
If God wants to move his children from one place to another and these children are strong due to a consistent discipleship plan it is very likely that they are going to extend the Kingdom of God into the place where they are going. If they are not discipled consistently, it is more than likely that they will be absorbed by the world either here or in the place to which they are moving.
Therefore, it is vital that every pastor and missionary that Works among Hispanics take advantage of the fact that God has brought the Hispanics to him and that he should disciple them in season and out of season.
5. The migration of people is under the sovereignty of God.
I made this comment because of the conflict that exists among some pastors and Christians in the USA concerning the legal or illegal status of Hispanic immigrants.
Pastor Steve Kohnert gave Biblical guidelines concerning this issue. He quoted several Old Testament texts about the care of the foreigner. His focus exhorted one to have a Biblical attitude toward the foreigner. Also, the key text included in the conference materials was Deuteronomy 10:19.
What I mentioned was that God controls the movement of people. The foundation of this statement is in the Old Testament (a proof text is Amos 9:7). The history of humanity is plagued with migration, conquest and liberation.
As Christians we are led by the Bible and we should see God working either salvation or judgment in people movements. As for Mexico, which is a bastion of Catholicism in this part of the world, many would not have been converted to Christ if they would not have come to this country.
With my comments I wanted to encourage those who have a heart to fulfill the Great Commission among Hispanic people who are in this country. With this way of thinking, in this country one could take advantage to fulfill the Great Commission among those who come from Moslem countries.
The United States has people from many nations. Christians shouldn’t enter into political discussions nor should they be in support of or against immigration whether legal or illegal (I say this with great care and I hope not to be misunderstood). What Christians should see is God working in this movement of peoples and take advantage of this historical moment to win people for the Kingdom of Christ and to disciple them to extend this same Kingdom to other nations.
In conclusion:
This conference was very edifying for me. I really enjoyed observing the conference organizers’ interest in Hispanic ministry. It was also great to see and hear the men who are working to reach Hispanics.
It is my prayer to God that as Hispanics we would begin to be a powerful instrument in world evangelization. I pray that we would stop seeing ourselves as a mission field and instead begin to see ourselves as a missionary instrument.
God wants to use us in the extension of His Kingdom wherever we are. He wants us to speak of Him and that we would do whatever is within our reach to evangelize and disciple people.
May we put ourselves in God’s hands and may He be the One who prepares us, strengthens us, motivates us and uses us in the evangelization of the world!

I participated in this conference thanks to the invitation of Pastor Andy Counterman of Anchor Baptist Church and with the help of Pastor Troy Calvert of Fairfax Baptist Temple. The first told me about the conference and the latter took me there.
The speakers at the conference were Dr. Rick Armstrong, Dr. Troy Calvert, Pastor Steve Kohnert, and Pastor Jack Ramos. These four servants of God have experience working with Hispanics. The conference was in English, but there was translation available for those who didn’t speak English. From what I could see, there were only two of us who didn’t speak English.
What I heard really encouraged me. I am impressed and moved by the fact that more and more American pastors and churches are becoming interested in reaching Hispanics who are in North America. It is a fact that many North American Christians are an example by their compassion, vision and missionary action.
Space does not allow me to share everything that I heard from the speakers. I have the materials they shared. It is full of statistical information and demonstrates a great heart to reach the Hispanic world. One of my friends in ministry may take the time to translate the materials and share it. If that should happen, it will be available to anyone who asks for it.
I want to share with you the observations that I made and shared with those who were at the conference. Time was given to dialogue, exchange ideas and comments among all those of us who were present. That was the right time for me to participate and express what I’ve seen in my 6 visits to the USA.
1. God should direct the lives of those who are converted to Jesus Christ.
I made this comment because I believe that no one has the right to tell an individual who is converted to Christ what he must do.
What I said was the following: “We should allow God to manage and govern the life of the believer.” This means that if a foreigner is converted to Jesus and God guides him to return to his country to reach his own… then he should return; if God guides him to stay… let him stay; and if God moves him to go to another country… let him go.
What I emphasized was that whatever option God should guide his child to choose, let him fulfill the Great Commission and let him become an instrument to extend the Kingdom of Christ wherever he goes.
I made this comment because it seemed to me that with good intentions and almost without realizing it, some seemed to want to decide what should be the will of God for Hispanics who are converted to Jesus. This is inadmissible.
We believe that every child of God is a priest before God, who has the Holy Spirit to guide him and has the Bible to instruct him. These Biblical concepts should guide the ministry that we begin, whether we are Hispanics, North Americans, Japanese or of any other nationality. We should trust that God knows what he wants to do with those that he brings into his Kingdom.
2. The missionary potential of the Hispanic who is converted to Christ.
Every person that is converted to Christ has an enormous missionary potential and we need to find the way to develop that potential to its maximum expression.
The Hispanic who is converted to Christ is a missionary instrument if God should return him to his country or if He should leave him here or takes him to another country.
I made this comment because several were asking what could be done so that Hispanics would feel and see that they are a part of the bigger church family that begins a ministry to them.
I mentioned that this was the same struggle that missionaries to Peru and other countries have experienced. How do we get the converted to become committed to the work of God? My observation attempted to make clear the goal to involve the converted in the Great Commission the first day they are converted to Jesus Christ.
I believe that we take too long to talk to the converted about the Great Commission. Because of this, if we want more people that cooperate and work at supporting the work of God on local, national and worldwide levels, the best we can do is to get them involved in the Great Commission from the beginning.
3. Strengthening the arm of the servants of God who work among Hispanics.
In my travels in this country I have observed that if there is a difficult ministry in the USA it Hispanic ministry.
The pastor or missionary’s work among Hispanics is an immense test and challenge.
The difficulties that discourage and frustrate the Hispanic minister are the following:
-The Hispanic is in constant movement, especially the illegal. It is very frustrating to train someone who is going to help you and then, they leave.
-The Hispanic works more than normal because he wants to send money to his home country making it very difficult for him to cooperate with the missionary or pastor in their ministry.
-The Hispanic who is legal and has a good job has become equally or more materialistic as the average American and has lost his heart for God and His work.
-The Hispanic minister is not free to develop the ministry as he considers God to be guiding him. This is especially true when he is under the leadership of a pastor or a group of pastors or a church that wants to exercise control over that ministry.
-The Hispanic minster doesn’t receive enough financial support for his family’s expenses nor for the ministry expenses. There are many Hispanic ministers who do not have a good house or a good car compared to American pastors or missionaries. His limitations are so great that he and his wife must work at other jobs to cover their basic needs.
-The Hispanic minister doesn’t see fruit very quickly nor very much. This fact is terrible and demoralizing by itself. It is even greater when behind him is a pastor, a pastoral team or church which demands numerical results.
-The Hispanic minister has conflicts of conscience because he knows that many Hispanic Brothers “lie.” This is terrible for pastors that know that God is holy and just. Pastor Troy Calvert told us his experience that amply illustrated how a brother lied to him and used him as defender of his lie before a court of law in the USA.
-The Hispanic minister doesn’t have genuine companionship with the pastor that is over him or with other pastors. This is a problem I’ve also noticed among North American pastors. This is dangerous since there isn’t a human arm that could encourage these pastors.
My question to the audience was this: “What is being done to strengthen and encourage the Hispanic pastors?”
Pastor Jack Ramos of Temple Baptist in Fairfax mentioned that conferences were being organized, that he made phone calls to other Hispanic pastors and that he was trying to contact other pastors. He would try to encourage the growth of fellowship among pastors in his area. That was a great response.
I hope in the Lord that much more will be done to encourage and strengthen the arm of those who work among Hispanics. I believe it will be rewarding to make sure that the spiritual health and ministerial joy of Hispanic pastors and their families are cared for.
4. Consistent discipleship to Hispanics.
As is often the case in Peru, discipleship to those who are converted in this country is often very weak. This true not only because of the job instability among Hispanics, but its true due to negligence on the part of those who work with Hispanics.
My question was: “What is being done to consistently disciple Hispanics who are converted to Christ?”
Pastor Acevedo, who came from New York, mentioned the Won by One book as a very good book for discipleship. He said he used it and that it helped him to disciple those who were being converted to Christ.
My concern about discipleship and its importance for growth of the Christian in becoming a better and more efficient instrument in the fulfillment of the Great Commission has to do with the fact that the Great Commission to all of Judea, Samaria and unto the Ends of the Earth was fulfilled when the brethren were scattered because of the persecution that occurred when Stephen died. (Acts 8: 1-4; 11:19-30).
There will always be migration. The movement of people from one place to another is an inescapable historic reality. We can’t do anything to prevent it. If on a particular day we prevent people from moving, then God will intervene and people will have to move. Because of this, churches should strengthen their ministry of discipleship so that the brethren can be growing and maturing constantly.
If God wants to move his children from one place to another and these children are strong due to a consistent discipleship plan it is very likely that they are going to extend the Kingdom of God into the place where they are going. If they are not discipled consistently, it is more than likely that they will be absorbed by the world either here or in the place to which they are moving.
Therefore, it is vital that every pastor and missionary that Works among Hispanics take advantage of the fact that God has brought the Hispanics to him and that he should disciple them in season and out of season.
5. The migration of people is under the sovereignty of God.
I made this comment because of the conflict that exists among some pastors and Christians in the USA concerning the legal or illegal status of Hispanic immigrants.
Pastor Steve Kohnert gave Biblical guidelines concerning this issue. He quoted several Old Testament texts about the care of the foreigner. His focus exhorted one to have a Biblical attitude toward the foreigner. Also, the key text included in the conference materials was Deuteronomy 10:19.
What I mentioned was that God controls the movement of people. The foundation of this statement is in the Old Testament (a proof text is Amos 9:7). The history of humanity is plagued with migration, conquest and liberation.
As Christians we are led by the Bible and we should see God working either salvation or judgment in people movements. As for Mexico, which is a bastion of Catholicism in this part of the world, many would not have been converted to Christ if they would not have come to this country.
With my comments I wanted to encourage those who have a heart to fulfill the Great Commission among Hispanic people who are in this country. With this way of thinking, in this country one could take advantage to fulfill the Great Commission among those who come from Moslem countries.
The United States has people from many nations. Christians shouldn’t enter into political discussions nor should they be in support of or against immigration whether legal or illegal (I say this with great care and I hope not to be misunderstood). What Christians should see is God working in this movement of peoples and take advantage of this historical moment to win people for the Kingdom of Christ and to disciple them to extend this same Kingdom to other nations.
In conclusion:
This conference was very edifying for me. I really enjoyed observing the conference organizers’ interest in Hispanic ministry. It was also great to see and hear the men who are working to reach Hispanics.
